About me

I am a woman from the North of England. I was raised in Cumbria, walking the fell tops and paths between villages from a young age. I now live in Derbyshire with a small white dog and I can dance the Argentine tango to a proficient level. I enjoy windy weather and books that I can read in one sitting.

I have a degree in English and History and an MA in Creative Writing with the Open University.

I am a writer of both fiction and poetry, with a particular interest in the metaphysical, looking for connections between nature and mankind, between the present day and times past. I approach the fictional form with a more Eastern mindset, highlighting not only the lyrical rhythms of the written word but also the rhythms of life – the repetitions that haunt our every day experiences.

Compression and brevity on the page capture the true essence of living. To read a work of fiction or poetry in one sitting is a pure joy, a joy that continues to resonate long after the book has been closed –  rather like the ripples on water long after the stone has dropped.
